Terms & Conditions
Details of important consumer booking and operator responsibility applicable to holiday arrangement included in our brochure as set out below. Please note that changes in airline fares and in exchange rates may affect the price quoted. Please ensure you ask you travel agent and/or Green Island Travel & Tours to check whether changes have occurred in the price quoted prior to booking and prior to payment of final balance.
Itinerary & Price Changes
The holiday details in this brochure are based on descriptions, schedules and costs and exchange rates as at 01/12/07. We do not anticipate any changes in prices, flight schedules, hotel ratings or itinerary. However, we reserve the right to make changes to them if they become necessary, due to circumstances beyond our control or if we have received information after the publication of the brochure and we believe that such changes would be in your best interest. Any changes to the holiday will be advised to your travel retailer.
If such changes result in your holiday differing substantially from that originally booked, you are entitled to amend your booking free of charge.
If we have to cancel your holiday due to circumstances beyond our control, we will endeavour to offer another similar holiday. If you do not accept any alternative offered by us, a partial refund may be available.
You must immediately notify your travel retailer of any changes to your address and contact telephone number in order that they may inform you of any changes to your booking.
If you believe that any part of your holiday differs from that described in our brochure, you should at the first instance request the service provider, and our local agent, if any, to attempt to resolve the problem. If the problem cannot be resolved in this way you must advise us of the problem and allow us the opportunity of resolving it. If the problem continues, please write to us within 7 days of the end of your holiday and enclose all documents which support your claim. If you choose not to follow this procedure and take other action, you should be aware that you do so at your own risk and expense.
How To Book
If more than one calendar month prior to departure, your travel retailer will, subject to availability, be given a provisional quote with an option valid for a maximum of 7 days. If after the option period you wish to proceed with a booking and requote may be applicable.
Deposits & Final Balance
A deposit of $300 per person or 10% of tour cost, whichever is greater is payable to your travel agent/us within 7 days of confirmation in order to secure a booking. The deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE if travel is not undertaken. Full payment of balance due is payable 60 days prior to departure or at time of booking if departure is within 60 days of travel.
Late Bookings & Amendments
A fee of $50 per person will apply to all late bookings and amendments made within 1 calendar month of original request, to cover additional costs. All requests must be accompanied by the usual deposit and will not be acted upon until such monies are to hand and full payment must be received within 24 hours of confirmation.
Cancellation
If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, all monies will be refunded less a cancellation fee per person as follows
- More than 60 days :: Loss of Deposit
- Between 2 months and 6 weeks :: 25% of holiday cost
- Between 6 weeks and 1 month :: 50% of holiday cost
- Between 1 calendar month and 2 weeks :: 75% of holiday cost
- Less than 15 days :: 100% of holiday cost
In addition to the above additional charges may be levied by airlines, hotels, tour operators etc as well as the travel retailer and will be charged to your account.
Not Included In Holiday Price
Domestic airfares, airport taxes, passport, visas, insurance, personal items, meals unless otherwise stated.
Responsibility And Booking Conditions
Green Island Travel & Tours (herewith called the Tour Operator) accept booking subject to the following conditions.
- A booking is accepted only after the Tour Operator received the deposit and issued the client of their travel agent a confirmation account. The balance must be paid not later than 60 days before departure, otherwise the Tour Operator may treat the booking as cancelled by the client.
- The Tour Operator acts as agent for the owners, contractor and suppliers of transportation and/or other related travel service provided and assume no responsibility for additional expense however caused arsing directly or indirectly from accidents, loss or damage to person or property, delays, transport failures, strikes, war, force majeure, Acts of God, etc… over which it has no control.
- While the Tour Operator will use its best endeavours to operate all tours as advertised, reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made without notice where deemed necessary or advisable by the Tour Operator. No refund will be made for any unused services, which are included in the tour price.
- (a)Prices are quoted in this program are based on costs at 01/12/07. The Tour Operator cannot be held responsible for any change which may occur and reserve the right to increase the price of any travel arrangement up to date of departure. This includes adjustments for devaluation, fuel surcharge, airfare increases as well as international exchange rate changes.
(b)The air content of tours is based on airfares applicable as at the above date. As airlines costs are constantly changing, it may be necessary to impose an air surcharge any time up to departure.
(c)It is a condition of the acceptance of your deposit in respect of this tour that all monies paid to Green Island Travel & Tours , whether by way of deposit or otherwise in respect of the service to be provided or fees payable under the tour program and the payment of a deposit for the tour shall be deemed to be a direction by you to Green Island Travel & Tours to disburse such monies as aforesaid. All monies received by Green Island Travel & Tours are deposited in its name with its bankers in a Trust Account. Green Island Travel & Tours are entitled to keep for its own account any interest earned on such monies. - This program is issued on the sole responsibility of the Tour Operator and has been compiled with reasonable care. It is not issued on behalf of, and does not commit any airline whose flight forms part of the tour arrangement.
- Receipt of a deposit will be taken as understanding by the Tour Operator that the participant has read and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions.
Variation
These terms and conditions cannot be varied or waived except by the proprietor of Green Island Travel & Tours in writing.
